Transportation and Transit
Osceola County Transportation & Transit is leading the charge in transportation innovation, embodying the spirit of "Be first to what's next." Committed to providing safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation solutions, we strive to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors of Osceola County, Florida.
In late 2019, Commissioners enacted one of the largest investments for road improvements in County history by refinancing bonds originally used to build the Osceola Parkway. That money, approximately $200 million, has been used to advance the design and construction of five key roadways.
In addition to this, the County is proactive in maximizing resources from our local, state, and federal transportation partners, including organizations such as the Central Florida Expressway Authority, the Florida Turnpike Enterprise, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration. This includes the active pursuit of state and federal grant opportunities to further our transportation projects.
We also collect mobility fees from new developments to ensure we can accommodate projected growth and meet the travel demands of our residents and visitors. Mobility fees are a one-time (up-front) charge assessed to new developments for their impacts to the local transportation network.
