Community Redevelopment Areas (CRA)

A Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) is an area designated by the local governing body, the Board of County Commissioners in this case, as a means to ensure that the area would develop with a coherent community vision, and to encourage reinvestment throughout the CRA. As part of the Community Redevelopment Act of 1969, Chapter 163 Part III, Florida Statutes (FS), a CRA is established through a Finding of Necessity. Further, the CRA Act outlines a comprehensive program that provides the legal framework and financing mechanisms with which local governments can undertake the unique and complex task of overcoming the conditions that contribute to the causes of slum and blight in certain areas.

Osceola County currently has two CRA’s: East 192 and West 192. Additional information about each CRA can be accessed by visiting the following links.
