Pill Bottle Recycling Program
The program is part of our ongoing efforts to reduce plastic waste and contribute to a more sustainable future for our community.
Why pill bottles? Their small size makes them challenging for traditional recycling processes, so if you drop them in your recycle bin, they likely will still end up at the landfill.
Our Empty Pill Bottle Collection Program is designed to collect used pill bottles, which will be repurposed by Osceola County Animal Services to dispense pet medication. By participating, you will help reduce the amount of plastic sent to landfills, conserve energy, and minimize pollution by lowering the demand for new raw materials.
How to Recycle Your Empty Pill Bottles
- Prescription and non-prescription bottles accepted
- Remove labels, leaving no glue or residue
- Wash bottles and lids in hot water and dish soap
- Rinse and dry thoroughly
- Replace lids on clean, dried bottles
