Ongoing hurricane debris collection
Storm Alerts and Information
Visit our Hurricane Center for up-to-date alerts about waste collection due to a major storm or hurricane.
Preparation (before the storm)
Find out where to take tree limbs, how to secure large waste items, and ensure your property is safe during a hurricane or storm.
- Stop all yard maintenance and tree trimming activities and DO NOT place vegetative waste curbside within three (3) days of a hurricane warning or severe weather warning.
- Secure garbage and recycling containers. Place empty containers in a secure location away from open spaces.
- Secure, bundle and tie down all loose trash such as tree limbs, wood planks or building and roof tiles on your property. Place these materials in a location where debris cannot become hazardous to homes, cars and property, in high winds.

No, please do not leave any large items at curbside as a storm approaches. Secure all large items in a shed or garage until the storm subsides. If you wish to dispose of large items prior to the storm, please contact Waste Management (407) 605-3892 to ensure they can schedule collection of your items. If not, please DO NOT leave items at the curb as they can become projectiles.
