What We Do

Mosquito Control actively reduces mosquito populations throughout the County which helps to reduce the transmission of diseases, like West Nile Virus. Plain and simple, Mosquito Control helps to rid us of those annoying pests!

If you would like to log a mosquito complaint call Mosquito Control at 407-742-0505.

Lakes Management is responsible for coordinating with other agencies to ensure our lakes are meeting their designated uses by providing habitat for fish and wildlife, managing aquatic invasive plants, ensuring flood control and ensuring recreation and public access are available to residents and visitors to the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes. In addition, Lakes is responsible for ensuring water pollution is prevented through the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System NPDES Program.

The NPDES program was authorized by the Clean Water Act to control water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants into waters of the United States. This program will be housed within Lakes Management as it relates to protecting the County’s natural resources by preventing water pollution from entering stormwater systems that eventually lead to our creeks, streams and lakes.
