Osceola County, Florida – The Osceola County Emergency Rental Assistance program will begin accepting applications on Sept. 12, 2022.

There is approximately $7 million available in the income-based program aimed at helping Osceola County’s most vulnerable tenants. It provides financial assistance to those who are past-due on their rent because of financial hardships caused by or during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Assistance is available for 1- 18 months or until all funding has been expended.  Eligibility rules will apply.

Pre-Applications are available at http://housing.osceola.org. 

Programs Applicants must comply with the following:

• 80 percent or below area median income for the household
• Osceola County resident
• Eligible financial hardship during or due, directly, or indirectly to COVID19
• Have not received 18 months of assistance from Housing & Human Services in the past 2 years
• Delinquent on their rent/utilities
• Must be behind in rent by at least 1 month
• Must be in a current rental lease

Eligible hardships include:

• Rental increase of more than 5 percent to an applicant’s current lease
• Loss of household income in the past 6 months
• Receiving unemployment benefits in the past 6 months
• Under employed in the past 6 months
• Increase in daycare expenses for full time working head of household by more than 10%
• Seniors who work no more than 30 hours per week who are on social security benefits
• Positive COVID test from a lab

$7 Millones Disponibles para Residentes de Osceola para Asistencia de Emergencia para Alquiler

 Requisitos del solicitante:

• Debe estar en un contrato de alquiler actual
• Debe estar atrasado en el alquiler por al menos un mes

Dificultades elegibles:

• Aumento de alquiler de más del 5% en el contrato de arrendamiento actual del solicitante
• Pérdida de ingresos del hogar en los últimos 6 meses
• Recibir beneficios de desempleo en los últimos 6 meses
• Subempleado en los últimos 6 meses
• Aumento de gastos de guardería de niños para cabeza de familia que trabaja a tiempo completo
• Personas mayores que trabajan no más de 30 horas por semana y que reciben beneficios del seguro social
• Prueba de COVID-19 positiva de un laboratorio
