Osceola County Announces the Opening and Closing of the Section 8 Waiting List

In accordance with the Section 8 Housing Administrative Plan, Section 4E, Chapter 4 OSCEOLA COUNTY ANNOUNCES THE OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE SECTION 8 WAITING LIST.
The Section 8 Waiting List will be opening on June 8, 2023, at 9:00am and closing on June 10, 2023, at 11:59pm. Waiting List Preliminary Applications can be accessed ONLINE ONLY at http://housing.osceola.org or https://www.waitlistcheck.com/FL2837. Assistance can be obtained at the following location between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm on Thursday and Friday, June 8 & 9, 2023 only.

Preliminary Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Preliminary Applications submitted after 11:59pm will not be accepted. Any person with a disability requiring special accommodations, should contact Osceola County Housing and Community Services at (407) 742-8406 and for the visually or hearing impaired, please call the following TDD number 1-800-955-8771 within five (5) calendar days prior to the Pre-qualification form date.
All Preliminary Applications received will be entered into a random lottery and reviewed to determine if the applicant qualifies to be placed on the waiting list. The random lottery will be held approximately 7 days after closing of the waiting list. A total of 300 preliminary applications will be selected.
Only one preliminary application per household will be allowed. Any household that submits more than one preliminary application will be disqualified.
Applicants requesting a local preference must check the appropriate boxes on the Preliminary Application.
Osceola County Housing and Community Services has the following local preferences:
- Osceola County Resident – Must be an Osceola County resident at least six months at time of application (ex: drivers’ license and one of the following: lease, utility bill, etc.)
- Non-Elderly with disabilities adult - defined as any family that includes a person with disabilities who is at least 18 years old and not yet 62 years old.
- Elderly - Elderly family means a family whose head, spouse, or sole member is an elderly person. (Elderly is defined as any individual 62 years of age and older)

La lista de espera de la Sección 8 se abrirá el 8 de junio de 2023 a las 9:00 a. m. y cerrará el 10 de junio de 2023 a las 11:59 p. m. Se puede acceder a las solicitudes preliminares de la lista de espera SOLO EN LÍNEA en http://housing.osceola.org o https://www.waitlistcheck.com/FL2837. Se puede obtener asistencia en el siguiente lugar entre las 9:00 a. m. y las 4:00 p. m. el jueves y viernes, 8 y 9 de junio de 2023 únicamente.

Las solicitudes preliminares deben enviarse antes de las 11:59 p. m. del sábado 10 de junio de 2023. No se aceptarán las solicitudes preliminares enviadas después de las 11:59 p. m. Cualquier persona con una discapacidad que requiera adaptaciones especiales debe comunicarse con los Servicios Comunitarios y de Vivienda del Condado de Osceola al (407) 742-8406 y para las personas con discapacidad visual o auditiva, llame al siguiente número TDD 1-800-955-8771 dentro de cinco (5) días naturales anteriores a la fecha del formulario de Precalificación.
Todas las solicitudes preliminares recibidas se ingresarán en un sorteo aleatorio y se revisarán para determinar si el solicitante califica para ser colocado en la lista de espera. La lotería aleatoria se llevará a cabo aproximadamente 7 días después del cierre de la lista de espera. Se seleccionarán un total de 300 solicitudes preliminares.
Solo se permitirá una solicitud preliminar por hogar. Cualquier hogar que presente más de una solicitud preliminar será descalificado. Los solicitantes que soliciten una preferencia local deben marcar las casillas correspondientes en la Solicitud Preliminar.
Los Servicios Comunitarios y de Vivienda del Condado de Osceola tienen las siguientes preferencias locales:
- Residente del condado de Osceola: debe ser residente del condado de Osceola al menos seis meses al momento de la solicitud (por ejemplo, licencia de conducir y uno de los siguientes: contrato de arrendamiento, factura de servicios públicos, etc.)
- Adulto no mayor con discapacidad - definido como cualquier familia que incluye una persona con discapacidad que tiene al menos 18 años y aún no ha cumplido los 62 años.
- Anciano - Familia anciana significa una familia cuyo cabeza de familia, cónyuge o único miembro es una persona anciana. (Anciano se define como cualquier individuo de 62 años o más)
