Osceola County, Florida – Two staff members with the Osceola County Corrections Department and two nurses with Armor Correctional Health Care have tested positive for COVID-19, officials announced Friday.

Currently, there are no known cases of COVID-19 among the inmate population.

Out of an abundance of caution, inmate movement within the facility is restricted to minimize the risk of spreading the virus.  These measures will continue while staff work to determine who might have had close contact with the positive cases.

The Osceola County Corrections Department continues to take measures aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 within the facility, including but not limited to:

  • All staff and inmates have been issued masks and are required to wear them;
  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting of all areas of the facility;
  • An emphasis on social distancing where possible; and
  • Screening and quarantining of all new inmates prior to entering General Population.
