The Supervisor of Elections is an autonomous Constitutional Officer who is elected by the voters of Osceola County. Her duties are to administer and certify the elections for Osceola County and its municipalities, maintain a current and accurate voter registration list, conduct voter registration, and provide voter education to all citizens to assist them in becoming a more informed voter while complying with the Florida Election Laws. The Supervisor of Elections also qualifies candidates for county office and receives candidate and party campaign finance and financial reports. Other duties and responsibilities include maintaining election equipment, hiring and training election workers, equipping polling locations and providing information and statistics about voter registration, voting history, verifying petition signatures, and maintaining precinct information for elections in Osceola County.

Mary Jane has devoted her life to community involvement since she moved to Osceola County 41 years ago. From helping out at schools her children attended to serving on community boards and charities, she branched out into the government arena in 1994 when she was elected to the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners. She served on the board from 1994 to 2002. Mary Jane went on to become one of the founding members of the Toho Water Authority in 2003, a position she served in until being elected as Supervisor of Elections in 2008.

Mary Jane remains active in the community and is a board member of the Osceola County YMCA and is a very involved member of the First United Methodist Church of Kissimmee. She has been and continues to remain active in a variety of groups which includes: the Executive Board of My Region; Osceola League of Women Voters; Turnpike and Expressway Authority (TEAM); Leadership Florida; LYNX Board of Directors; Osceola Center for the Arts Board of Directors; United Arts Trustee; Good Samaritan Advisory Board; Mid-Florida Economic Development Commission; Kissimmee Planning Advisory Board Chairman; Past Chairman of Osceola School Board Affirmative Action Committee; the American Red Cross Advisory Council; and MetroPlan Orlando Board of Directors.

Mary Jane has a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida and has completed course work for a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Florida State University. She has been married to her college sweetheart, Curtis, for 43 years. They have four grown children, two whom are active in city and county government and two grandchildren.
