Osceola County News Brief - Liberty High School Gains Funding for Manufacturing Career and Technical Education Academy

Osceola County Commission Chairman Brandon Arrington (District 3) presents a $500,000 check to officials from Liberty High School and the Osceola County School District on Monday, September 12, 2022. Reaffirming his commitment to education and career training, Arrington pledged dollars from federal targeted recovery effort dollars, part of the County’s planned use of American Rescue Plan funds, to this effort to ensure the establishment of the Manufacturing Career and Technical Education Academy with a total commitment of $2.1 million. The Academy fits the School District’s efforts to create more industry certification programs and to provide training for skilled trades, which are in demand by employers across the region. The School District will enroll over 180 students in the program over a two-year period.
